The GL-AR300M16 (Shadow) is the go-to router for AREDN (Amateur Radio Emergency Data Network) mesh deployments. Runs on Atheros QCA9531 — exactly the chipset AREDN firmware supports. Flash AREDN firmware and it becomes a licensed-band 2.4 GHz mesh node for EmComm or portable operations. Dual external antennas, USB-powered option, OpenWRT-based. Only the AR300M16 variant is AREDN-supported (not the older AR300M).
